Melissa, I’ve just been going through a box of old tintypes … 1800′s… survivors of the Civil War….families forming communities… many just faces… about half with names and about half of those with names I recognize. All of them connected in some way with one another through family ties, through events in history. As I look through these faces I realize that this is where I came from. Even though I feel so “unstuck” through death and time… we are still “stuck” together by that mysterious tie.
How fascinating, Merrill! I’ve spent so much time working in archives and looking at old photographs the last couple of years… and yes, it does make you realize how connected we all are across time.
