So spare, lovely, ambiguous…cut flowers fading, or drying on the stems outdoors in autumn? Who cut them and brought them to whom, or who didn’t cut them outdoors and why not? I see hospital rooms and bright goldfinches feeding on seedheads and a lover’s bedroom and autumn frost all in one. Amazing!

Thanks, Abigail … I really love it when my readers see possibilities in my haiku that I didn’t even know were there. 🙂
