what this weather
tells me
about you —
that you
kept things
warmer
than necessary —
all the
seedlings
succumbed
to your charms —
green
too early
the dirt
around them
still flaked
with ice —
perhaps
I’m oversensitive —
these gloves
in my pocket
hopelessly
empty
.
I always like a poem that makes me think.
Glad you liked it, Russ.
This is exactly what happened to me. We had a couple of weeks with 60-70 degree days… so I planted my kohlrabi. Right after I planted it we had three days of freezing nights…well down in the 30’s. Now I don’t know if those seeds will germinate. Today, back in the 70’s again….
I watch
a dirt patch waiting
green mirage?
